Forever A Child
Like many artists the one thing that I find consistent throughout my artwork is the acknowledgment of my identity. So far within my art career, you can see that I reference my identity in my artwork through my opinions, ideas, function, and placement in the world. From rediscovering a love for a certain type of artwork from my childhood, I then realized that is the time where a large portion of our identity is formed.
I make artwork about world-building which is related to escapism. I believe we try to escape reality through our imaginations but they are referent to the real world and our experiences. I make artwork in an analogous mode to talk about things such as race, love, innocence, and more. Yet, I make create artwork too look comical so I can laugh at struggles that seemed intense in the moment but are completely ignorant in retrospect.
